What we forge
-
Work rolls
Forged, hardened work rolls for hot and cold rolling mills, in alloy steels matched to your application.
-
Back-up rolls
Large-diameter back-up rolls, finished up to 1700 mm (67″) in diameter and in excess of 70 metric tons.
-
Fully integrated metallurgy
From scrap selection and melting through forging, heat treatment and finish machining — every step under our own roof.
From scrap to shipped roll
1
Material selection, melting & degassing
Single-ladle melting with vacuum degassing for the cleanest, purest steel — the foundation of a roll that holds up in service.
2
Bottom pouring
100% bottom pouring fills every ingot from below, keeping inclusions out and the internal structure sound.
3
Forging
Worked hot under the press to consolidate the steel and build the grain flow a working roll demands.
4
Machining & refining
Turned and refined toward final geometry on heavy lathes built for multi-ton work.
5
Hardening & tempering
Controlled heat treatment sets the surface hardness and depth your mill specifies.
6
Quality inspection & shipping
Dimensional and non-destructive inspection against spec — backed by an ISO 9001 quality system — before any roll leaves the floor.
7
After-sale technical service
We visit your plant to check roll performance and help solve rolling problems long after delivery.
